I have been looking at pretty painted vases on Pinterest lately and simultaneously unpacked a box full of vases.
I couldn’t help it, I had to do some painting!
Many of the projects I saw and pinned called for painting the inside of the vase but I chose to paint the outside just in case I want to put flowers in it down the road.
The particular vase I pulled out is very thin glass and nothing special to look at…it was asking for a makeover.
I have been a little obsessed with spray paint these days so I used that to paint the outside.
Here’s what I used:
2 colors of spray paint.
Chrome and Yellow, both can be used on glass and just about anything else
I taped off a portion of the bottom and painted the bottom chrome.
Once it dried I taped off the silver portion and painted the top yellow.
This vase will eventually end up on my living room mantel along with this mounted picture I made a couple of weeks back.
There are pops of yellow and gray all over my first floor so this vase fit right in….eventually ;)
Note: I rested my finished vase on a pretty coaster. Had I thought this through I would not have painted the bottom of the vase for fear it will rub off on the wood over time.
