My deck is still empty this Spring, I’m just waiting for that right day when the flurries stop and the warm weather arrives for good. We’ve had a few beautiful days, but inevitably it turns cold and yucky the next day. Soon, very soon, I’ll pull out my furniture, pots and accessories and enjoy my outdoor space every day. Below are some of my favorite ways to refresh an outdoor space. All of them cost little more than a can of paint and have made a big impact on the look and feel of my deck. I don’t have many new outdoor projects on my list this year but I’m sharing a few ideas at the end of this post that I will be tackling, be sure to check them out.
Ready to refresh your outdoor space? These are my favorite projects and a few ideas for what I want to do outside this year.
I got this dingy porch swing for a steal! I cleaned it up and finished it with a white stain. It is the most comfortable shady spot to sit in the summer.
These painted pots and side table bring color and fun to my plain deck.
Painting some old plastic chairs was one of my favorite projects. These still look great and function as every day seating on my deck.
A Painted Bird Bath and Tips for Sealing Painted Pots
A little bird bath next to some lush plants and a bird feeder complete a lovely little corner of my deck. Another way to add color to your outdoor space.
And a few projects that I want to do this year.
I would love one of these beverage holders on my deck. Maybe something permanent that I can keep out there for summer get togethers.

I love the vintage look of clear globe lights. I want to use them along my deck rails behind my sofa, it would make for such a calming evening night outside.
This reversible outdoor rug is made from durable, recycled material. It adds a little comfort under your feet and cleans up easily.
I can’t wait for warm weather to finally arrive for good so I can start enjoyting my outdoor space.
What outdoor projects do you have planned this year?
Thanks for visiting!
