Birth Announcement with PicMonkey

Note: This is not a sponsored post, all opinions are 100% my own.

Did you send out birth announcements for your kids?  I love them, then again I love traditional paper cards.  There’s something special about getting a sweet card in the mail.  Before Little Lady came along I chose a pre-designed card through a card website (I honestly don’t remember which one) then dropped in a picture as soon as she was born.  It was cute, but small and pricey.  Since I am in the business of making and selling cards I thought I would do it myself this time around.  Something with sweet pictures and handmade touches, it was going to be perfect.

Then Baby Girl came along, apparently I forgot how much of a fog the first couple of weeks are.

So I scrapped the traditional handmade idea and decided to create my own announcement using my favorite online photo editor Picmonkey.

PicMonkey Birth announcement

Still handmade and unique, but a fraction of the cost of using a pre-designed card. Plus I could do it in an hour instead of the days it would have taken to follow my original plan.

I use the free version of PicMonkey for all my blog and Etsy photos. Such a great resource. I created a 5×7 collage with a couple of photos and Baby Girl’s stats.  Then I printed them on matte photo paper for about $.10 each through a local drug store.

I have to note, these photos were taken by Katie Fromstein Photography and I am in love with them.  She captured beautiful moments with my girls and some great family shots too.

I adore how they turned out, highly recommend going this route!  If you have not tried PicMonkey go check it out right now, it’s fun just to touch up snap shots too.
