I recently acquired a lamp from my Grandfather’s house, it is probably 50 or so years old but is in solid shape. It is just not that pretty. I chose to make it over and add it to my recently updated guest room. I am sharing this lamp makeover along with my blogging friends in this month’s Dose if DIY Blog Hop. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post to see their fabulous makeovers, but first let me show you how I completed this Bronze Lamp Makeover.

My guest room is bright white with metallic accents, I chose to add those colors to this lamp along with a rustic touch.
Here is what I used:
- Metallic spray paint
- White craft paint
- brush
- Rope
- Hot Glue
- White shade
I started by taping off the top of the lamp using painters tape and plastic bags, then spray painting the bottom a metallic bronze. It took 2 coats to cover it well.

Then I painted the top part white. Once everything was dry I used hot glue to wrap a thick rope around a portion of the base as well as the top and bottom of the shade

I put this bronze lamp in my guest room and love how it looks with the other metallic pieces in there.
