When it comes to chocolate there is not much I love more. Smooth rich decadent chocolate is my go to treat. Whether by itself or baked up in something warm and delicious, it always hits the spot. I made a version of a cherry pie shot using homemade chocolate cups and whipped cream. These shots make a delicious dessert! I also made some non-alcoholic options that my kids can enjoy. Check out the video for these chocolate cherry pie shots below.

Chocolate Cup Supplies:
- Small balloons
- Milk Chocolate chips
- Coconut Oil
- Microwave safe container to melt chocolate
- Spoon
- Tray covered with wax paper
Cherry Pie Shot Ingredients:
- Rumchata
- Jim Beam Red Stag
- Cocktail Shaker with ice
- Whipped Cream
- Red Sprinkles
Be sure to watch the video for the full tutorial. Here are a few tips.
After dipping your balloons in chocolate and freezing them, pop the balloons with a pin and gently remove the balloon. As you touch the chocolate it may begin to melt. Pop them back in the freezer for a few minutes then remove the rest of the balloon.
Keep the cups frozen or refrigerated until you are ready to serve the cherry pie shots.
Combine Rumchata and Red Stag 2 to 1. In this recipe I used 4 shots of Rumchata and 2 shots of Red Stag.
Here are a few non-alcoholic options
- Fill the chocolate cups with whipped cream and sprinkles and enjoy with a spoon
- Make a milkshake and serve in these cups as a shot
- Make the cups a little larger, using larger balloons, and serve ice cream sundaes in them.
I plan on making and enjoying these with my husband for Valentine’s Day this year. I hope you enjoy them too.
