I have a few trees in my home this year, all different styles. The living room is home to my classic gold Christmas tree. This tree is filled with sparkle and light and I absolutely adore it. Let me show you my tree and be sure to check out all the other beautiful Christmas trees at the end of this post.

This classic gold Christmas tree almost didn’t happen this year. Most of the pre-strung lights were not working when I first plugged it in. I got 1 strand working and was ready to throw in the towel.
Instead of getting a new tree this close to Christmas I opted to add new white lights to the tree right over the old burnt out lights. It works just fine! I’ll have to shop around and see if I can replace this tree next year. Or at the very least pull off all those burned out lights.

Once the tree was fluffed and lit I decorated it using gold ornaments. I shopped after Christmas sales last year and picked up a wide variety of gold themed ornaments. Everything from large and sequence to small and glittery. I also sprinkled in my existing silver ornaments and keepsakes.

For the past 10 years I have had red on my tree. I love red for Christmas and still have it in most of my decor. But for the first time I opted to leave it off my tree. I am so happy with the change and love all the sparkle.
I added pieces of wide gold sheer ribbon throughout the tree and a few gold and silver picks to add fullness.

My favorite part of this tree is probably the paper star tree topper. I made this with 2 sheets of card stock and absolutely love how it turned out! I decorated my other 2 trees using smaller paper stars just like it.

Love and pinned the tree! And the star on top is amazing. I'm glad you were able to add more lights and make it work for this year:)

We had the same problem with the lights on our tree this year. We went to replace the tree until we discovered how much they cost. We were told about a YouTube Christmas Light 101 video and managed to get all the strands working again but it took several tedious hours. Your classic gold Christmas tree is very pretty! Pinned :) It's been fun doing the holiday tour with you, Sarah. Wishing you a beautiful Christmas!

Your tree looks beautiful the way it is! And I removed the lights from a small pre-lit tree several years ago. It was quite a task, and my fingers were raw by the time I got done! They really attach those things good!
