It’s Dollar Store project time, one of my favorite posts of the month. Once a month I partner with some lovely blogger friends to bring you a themed Dollar Store project. This month it’s all about Christmas and I am sharing a Dollar Store winter scene in a jar. This is such a simple project and it looks so elegant and pretty among soft lights on my mantle. Take a look at how I made this winter scene in a jar and then be sure to check out the other Dollar Store projects at the end of this post.
A couple years ago I made a vintage Christmas scene using a punch bowl and some cute winter decor, it’s one of my favorite pieces in my holiday collection. I love how simple it is to put together and how it adds character to my living room.
This Dollar Store winter scene in a jar was inspired by my vintage Christmas scene. I made a smaller, simpler version to decorate my mantle this year.
Supplies
- Jar with lid
- Snowflake ornaments
- Bells
- Faux snow
- Hot Glue
- Twine
This is such a simple project really, and I love the final look. I used hot glue to attach the snowflake ornaments at varying lengths to the inside of the lid. I filled the bottom of the jar with faux snow and then just screwed on the lid. The snowflake ornaments dangle in the jar creating a pretty snowy winter scene.
I used a little twine to add a few bells to the outside of the jar. I love how this jar looks with soft lights and a few Christmas decorations around it. It’s the perfect little decoration for my mantle this year.

I'm of the opinion that you just can't have too many faux snow globes at Christmas. Your winter scene is darling and would be fun to craft with kids, too. Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
