Today’s project kicks off the 2019 Deck the Home challenge. I participated in this last year and loved all the creative projects and inspiration that was shared. I hope you enjoyed it too. It’s back this year with more holiday goodness for you!
Take a look at my Christmas coffee filter wreath that I shared last year as part of this fun challenge. Today’s theme is door decor, which means anything holiday related that you can hang on your front door. So many possibilities! Find all the Christmas door decor projects below.

This fall I shared a wood sign door hanger that I used for the season in place of a traditional wreath. I absolutely love the non traditional look and decided I needed to use the same concept for my Christmas door decor.

I liked this fall door hanger so much I used the same technique and ribbon for my Christmas version! To be honest I could keep up the black and white version, it can span all seasons, but I like to change things up every now and then. Maybe this one will come back out in January.
Check out the video to see just how easy this is to make, and scroll down for step by step instructions. You can pick up a gold charger at Dollar Tree, or order them online in bulk for all your tablescapes and DIY projects. I used these same gold chargers for my Thanksgiving table!

Dollar Tree Christmas Door Hanger
A simple DIY Christmas door hanger.
Materials
- Dollar Tree gold charger
- Black vinyl cut into Merry Christmas
- Evergreen sprigs
- Ribbon in various colors
Tools
- Scissors
- Transfer tape
- Hot glue gun
- Pipe cleaner
Instructions
- Before you begin this project, purchase or cut out the words Merry Christmas from black vinyl. You can purchase these pre cut stickers at a craft store or cut your own using a Cricut.
- Transfer the vinyl words to the center of the gold charger.
- Loop buffalo check ribbon into a bow and tie together with a pipe cleaner.
- Using hot glue, attach the bow to the top of the charger.
- Use hot glue to attach the greenery to either side of the bow.
- Loop a length of red ribbon and hot glue it to the back of the charger to use as a hanger.
This door hanger is so versatile, you can use just about any combination of colors and patterns to make this work with your decor. I love buffalo check so that just had to be included. The gold charger and black glitter vinyl add that touch of sparkle that I need in my holiday decorating.
I hope you found this door decor inspiring and you are ready to start crafting for Christmas. It’s full speed ahead here so expect to see lots more holiday projects coming up. I want you to be armed with beautiful pins so when you’re ready to start decorating you have all the inspiration you need.
