This simple dollar tree fall wreath is made with inexpensive materials but will make a colorful statement in your home.

Dollar Tree DIYs are a fun way to decorate for a season or holiday without breaking the bank. The store has expanded its craft offerings in recent years and its seasonal items have become more mainstream and less kitschy.
For this fall wreath, I used a base of everyday items and decorated it with some seasonal pieces. Let me break down what I used and how I put it together.

Supplies for a fall wreath
Here are the key supplies I used and where to find them in a Dollar Tree store. You can also order online but you have to make a bulk purchase. If you plan to do a lot of crafting that might be the way to go.
- Wire wreath form. This is in the floral section and comes in a standard circle as well as other shapes throughout the year.
- Rope. This thick white rope is soft and flexible and can be found near the wreath forms.
- Greenery. There is always a rotating stock of faux floral items at Dollar Tree.
- Pumpkins. These are in the seasonal area, you’ll start to see them in late August. They come in a pack of 3 with clips on the back. Each year will feature a different color or pattern.
Other basic supplies like hot glue can be found at Dollar Tree, but I would invest in a good glue gun and matching glue sticks for all your craft projects.
How to make a basic dollar tree wreath
The base of this wreath can be used year-round. Start with a wire wreath form and rope. Hot glue the end in place and wrap the entire form in rope. Glue the ends together when you need to start a new strand.
From here you can add any seasonal items like pumpkins and fall florals. Try mini ornaments for Christmas, flags for the Fourth of July and something spooky for Halloween.
Altering Dollar Tree items
One of my favorite parts about shopping at a dollar store is the ability to DIY on a budget. The same goes for thrift store shopping. For less than $10 I can buy a bunch of materials and create my own unique home decor.
For this wreath, I altered little faux pumpkins by removing the clip and stem, then spray painted them using pastels.
I created a fall wreath but the muted colors feel more updated than traditional reds and oranges.
Dollar Tree DIY Fall Wreath

Materials
- Wire wreath form
- Rope
- Greenery
- Mini pumpkins
Tools
- Hot glue
- Wire cutters
- Spray paint
- Toothpicks
- Empty cardboard box
Instructions
Make the wreath base
- Wrap a wire wreath form in rope. Secure the ends with hot glue.
Paint the pumpkins
- Remove the clips and stems from the pumpkins.
- Stick a toothpick in the bottom of a pumpkin and stick the other end of the toothpick into a box, this creates a place to easily spray paint.
- Spray paint all sides of the pumpkins and let them dry.
- Stick the stems back into the pumpkins.
Assemble the wreath
- Use a wire cutter to clip small stems of greenery to fill a portion of the wreath.
- Slip the stems into the rope along one portion of the wreath.
- Hot glue pumpkins around the greenery.
- Hot glue a loop of rope to the back of the wreath to create a hanger.
Notes
This wreath base, just the rope around the wire form, is a great start to any seasonal wreath. Add different florals and greenery for any season.
