Supplies
- Scraps of fabric
- Ribbon
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Pins
- Safety pin
- Sewing machine
I received this sewing machine for Christmas from my family and I absolutely love it. It’s easy to use for small projects like this, but holds up well to lots of repetitive heavy work too.
Be sure to watch the video for all the details.
Start with a scrap of fabric about twice the size of you gift. You will fold the top down and sew a channel for the ribbon to run through. Once the channel is sewed in, fold the right sides of the fabric together to create a pouch. Then, using a safety pin attached to one end of the ribbon, push the ribbon through the channel. Finally turn the bag inside out. You’ll need to push the ribbon through the small opening left in the bag and you are ready to use this drawstring gift bag.
This simple drawstring gift bag can be as large or small or your gift requires. Skip the paper and gift one of these bags instead, think of all the ways you can reuse a cute little bag like this.
