A simple wood garland made with metallic paint and wood slices. A fun and easy way to decorate for Valentine’s day.

I don’t typically go all out with home decor for Valentine’s day. However, I am a big fan of cute shareable Valentines and sweet treats. Check out these no candy Cricut Valentines or these printable ‘punny’ tags to add to your favorite candy.
When it comes to decorating my home for the holiday I tend to keep it simple. This pom pom wreath from Christmas has been re-imagined to add some pink to my kitchen. And this chalkboard sign is still a favorite piece of decor.

I had a few of these wood slices left over from a project and decided to make them into a wood garland for Valentine’s day. Just a small and subtle piece of decor that will add a little color to my home.

I grabbed some rope and pink and red paint to make this project. This paint, Decoart Extreme Sheen, is the best metallic paint. It has amazing coverage and reflects light beautifully. I used it to update some ornaments this past Christmas and couldn’t wait to use it again for another project.

Materials
Tools
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Black Sharpie
- Paint brushes
Instructions
- Paint one side of each wood slice with 2 coats of paint. Let dry between coats.
- Once the paint has dried completely, use a black Sharpie to write block letters spelling LOVE.

I chose to hang this wood garland in my office. It’s a nice little addition to my already colorful craft room.
