School is out for summer which means my kids are home and ready to enjoy fun filled and active days. No one told my kids about the lazy days of summer. I spend most of my days outside with my girls keeping tabs on them while they run from yard to yard with friends playing on swing sets and jumping in pools. I have found the best way to enjoy those elusive “lazy days” is to corral the family after dinner once a week and enjoy a low key family movie night. Last week we took our movie night up a notch to celebrate the end of the school year and watched a favorite movie on the deck as the sun set. The kids were in heaven, and Mom and Dad had a nice time too.
As much as I love a night out at the theater, it’s not that enjoyable with two small children. We much prefer to watch movies at home, at our own pace. Being able to pause for a snack or bathroom break, or even just to shake some sillies out is the ideal way to watch a movie in our house.
This summer we are watching a new release movie once a month courtesy of my new Walmart Family Mobile plan. I switched from another carrier a little over a year ago and have not looked back, the service is reliable and the cost can’t be beat. The Walmart Family Mobile PLUS Plan comes with Unlimited Talk, Text, & Data which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE plus a free movie on VUDU every month ($7 value) per line for $49.88.
I love that our family can pick a movie from a huge selection and stream it to our TV for an enjoyable family movie night. No extra effort, I just use my monthly credit and let the kids pick a movie. Watching it outside at sunset this past week made it extra special. I don’t think they will let us have movie night inside again this summer. Something as simple as moving our lightweight TV and Roku(R) to the deck was enough to turn family movie night into a special summer kick off adventure!
In addition to the kids getting a cool new movie, I got a new phone. The LG G Stylo is a sleek phone, larger than my last version. I got it on rollback for $179, regularly $199. I downloaded a bunch of new apps to keep me busy while I’m outside with my kids. This Mom can only handle so many water fights and games of tag. Since I’m usually out of WiFi range when we’re playing outside I am thoroughly enjoying the 10GB of data I have with the Walmart Family Mobile Plus plan. I can listen to podcasts, check Facebook, and scroll through Instagram without worrying about overages. I picked up my new LG phone at Walmart. If you are a new customer, getting started is easy. Select the phone you want, there’s a good selection in all price ranges, and grab a Starter Kit. Start service on ANY plan today for $19.88!. The starter kits are on rollback, regularly $25, and can be found hanging just above the phones in the display. Activation is a breeze and you’ll be up and running in no time. There are no hidden up front costs, just purchase a phone and starter kit and you’re ready to start enjoying all that data!
Our epic outdoor movie night, complete with popcorn and cuddles, was a success. It’s amazing how little effort it takes to impress my kids sometimes. Just being together as a family and doing something as simple as watching a movie outside made their week. A huge plus that our movie came free via VUDU with my Walmart Family Mobile Plus plan. I’d say it was a great way to kick off summer.
