I come from a family of gardeners. I have Parents, Grandparents and siblings with beautiful lush gardens full of flowers and food. I admire their hard work and dedication to tending these gardens each and every season. I, on the other hand, was not gifted with a green thumb. I am not a huge fan of spending my summer days in the dirt either. I have a container garden on my deck each year and that is about the extent of my skills. Inside, I have a hard time keeping even the most basic plant healthy. I have found that succulents were made for people like me, they are beautiful little plants that don’t need much TLC. I created a succulent flower box this past week that I am loving. And here’s a little secret, these are Faux Succulents! The perfect indoor plant for me. Get all the details below.
I was at Michael’s buying paper but, of course, I walked the entire store just to see what was new for Spring. I stumbled upon this amazing section with all kinds of succulents and containers and I just couldn’t contain myself. A succulent flower box that I don’t have to water and still looks amazing is right up my alley.

Here is what I used to create this faux succulent flower box
- Wood box (I already had this crate)
- Filler – I used crinkle cut paper shred
- Stones
- Faux succulents
Watch this video to see how I put this faux succulent flower box together
Step 1: Fill the box with paper shred.
Step 2: Stick a variety of faux succulents into the paper shred.
Step 3: Top with rocks to cover the paper shred, and add any other small succulents. You could also use moss to cover the paper shred.
Be sure to pin this project so you can recreate it later
I hope this has inspired you to create something simple and beautiful today.
