When Spring rolls around I find myself adding lots of color to my home. I seem to gravitate toward neutrals in the winter months, and just as much as I want to rid my home of the snow and cold these day I also want to give those neutrals the boot! I grabbed a few small mason jars this week and brought them to life with colorful glitter. As my daughter likes to say, glitter makes everything better. These glitter mason jars are so easy to make, they can be done in a variety of patterns and colors to match your mood.
This month’s Dose of DIY hop is all about Spring jars. My friends are sharing beautiful projects that you can see at the end of this post. Be sure to read all the way down to check them out.
Here is what I used to make these glitter mason jars:
Some of the following are affiliate links.
- Small mason jars
- Painter’s tape
- Paint brush
I taped off the top of the jar with painter’s tape then brushed white school glue around the exposed half of the jar. This is where you could get creative with shapes. Use the painter’s tape to create geometric shapes and varying lines.
Once coated I covered the glue in glitter, removed the tape and let the jar dry.
I filled my jars with white flowers and have them displayed on a chalkboard pallet in my office. They bring a little sparkle to my room. I think I may make a few more with pink and green glitter and use them around my house this Spring. Colorful glitter is such an easy way to add color to your home for Spring.
Now it’s time to be inspired by my very talented friends. Be sure to click on each photo to see the full post.
