A Halloween candy corn sign you can make and display this fall. This not so scary sign uses some of my favorite crafting techniques to create a layered and textured look.
Check out the supply list below then be sure to scroll down and watch my Facebook Live video to see exactly how I made this pretty candy corn sign.

Supplies:
- 1×6 wood board cut to 24″ long
- Paint: Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Timeless, Craft paint in black, orange, yellow and white.
- Paint brushes
- This free candy corn stencil
- Pencil
- Black vinyl
- Contact paper
- Silhouette weeding and scraper tools
- Silhouette
Start by painting the piece of wood with the Timeless chalky finish paint. While the paint is still tacky, use a dry brush technique to add a little black paint. This will leave your word looking weathered and textured.
Once the paint has dried, use the candy corn stencil to trace with a pencil varying sizes of candy corn across the board. Then paint them with yellow, orange and white paint. Once everything is dry you can cut “Happy Halloween” from black vinyl using your Silhouette and adhere it to the sign. Use your favorite font, cut and weed the vinyl, then use Contact paper to transfer the vinyl to the wood sign.
The combination of a weathered paint look, stenciled candy corn and black vinyl give this wood sign a beautiful look. These techniques can be used to create signs for any holiday or occasion, just add some subtle shapes to the sign then layer bold text over the top.
