Halloween is a major event in my neighborhood. Not only do kids of all ages dress up and enjoy trick or treating, the adults get in on the fun too. During the month of October, we decorate, stock up on the best treats and plan a fun Halloween costume party. I wanted to help my neighborhood get in the Halloween spirit this year so I created a Halloween mason jar BOO kit filled with grown up goodies that I know my friends will love. Take a look at how I created this BOO kit and learn how you can start the trend in your neighborhood.
So what’s a BOO Kit? Good question, go to BOOItForward.com to learn all about it. Then head over to Walmart or Walmart.com to pick up the supplies and treats you need. Walmart is the one stop shop for building a creative BOO kit this Halloween. Make a BOO Bundle, secretly deliver it and BOO it forward. Before you know it there will be a Halloween buzz throughout your neighborhood.
Here’s how I made this Halloween Mason Jar BOO Kit.
- Half-gallon mason jar
- Painters tape
- Paint brush
- Craft Paint
I filled my BOO kit with M&M’S®, SNICKERS®, TWIX®, Skittles®, Starburst®, and 7UP®* as well as American Greetings® stickers and tissue paper from Walmart.
I wanted a pretty, grown-up jar with a touch of Halloween. I painted the bottom with yellow, orange and white paint then outlined the top in gold glitter. I used painters tape to mark off even stripes around the jar. I painted the yellow and white first, then removed the tape when the paint had dried and added orange in the middle.
To decorate the lid I added cute Pumpkin stickers from American Greetings® and tied a printed BOO card around the mouth of the jar.
I used tissue paper to fill the bottom of the jar then added M&M’S®, SNICKERS®, TWIX®, Skittles®, Starburst®, and 7UP®* for my neighbors to enjoy. Be sure to grab this Ibotta offer to save on Monster cans when you head to Walmart to create your BOO kit. When you get your monster cans home be sure to check out the Mini Monsters AR app. The monsters on each can come to life with this app. You can download it at www.minimonsters.com.
I snuck this onto a neighbor’s porch and am so excited for them to find it! So many of us already have decorations up and costumes picked out. I hope my neighbors will BOO it forward and add to the Halloween fun.
