Red Rhinestone Christmas Ornament

Christmas is coming!  For a crafty DIY-er {that’s me and probably you too} this is an open invitation to craft up a storm!

I have found myself creating ornaments this year, more so than usual.  It started with one for a friend, then some kids ornaments, and now I have moved onto my tree.  It was only natural to team up with some other crafty bloggers to bring you 30 beautiful handmade ornaments.

I decided to create a red glass ornament with a little sparkle.

This ornament is a ridiculously simple concept. It can be done in any color or design.  I opted for a simple sparkly design on a large bulb ornament.

I started with red acrylic paint, adhesive rhinestones, and a glass ornament.

I filled the ornament with red paint and swirled it around until it was covered.  Then I turned it upside down on a jar and let the excess paint drip out.  I let it dry overnight then added adhesive rhinestones.  That’s it!  I am looking forward to using this technique in a variety of colors and patterns on my tree this year.

Stopping by from Social Media Link Party. Looks great, how something so simple as adding paint and stones transforms it into beauty!

Love it, Sarah! You have more patience than I would have with all of those little rhinestones. ;)
