Summer calls for cool fruity drinks, even for the kids. I am a wine lover and during the summer months I like to mix it up with fresh fruit and enjoy some sangria over ice. My kids always want a sip, so we made a batch of kid friendly virgin sangria full of fresh fruit and juice that they can enjoy with me.
Recipes are always well received in my home when my kids help make them. For this virgin sangria I let my girls pick out the fruit and mix everything together. Check out how easy this is to make.

When making a virgin sangria like this, you can get creative and use whatever fruit or juice you’d like.
A few tips:
- Fill a 1-gallon beverage dispenser (this one is great) about 1/3 full of cut up fruit.
- Add a bottle of juice and top it off with ginger ale, about half a bottle.
Ingredients:
- 2 oranges, sliced
- 1 lime, sliced
- 1 apple, sliced
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 nectarine, sliced
- 1 bottle cranberry grape juice
- 1 L ginger ale
Fill the bottom of a 1-gallon dispenser with fruit. Add juice. Top with ginger ale.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Serve over ice.
This virgin sangria tastes amazing after a night in the refrigerator. My family especially loves scooping out the fruit and snacking on it, the girls say it tastes bubbly.
To make this an adult beverage pour a little white or red wine over your ice before adding the sangria. Just as delicious.
What’s your favorite summer drink?
