December is just around the corner and with that brings Advent and a countdown to Christmas. Last year I created Little Lady’s first Advent calendar. I put an activity and treat in a bag for each day. They bags were decorated and pinned to a pretty board. These daily activities helped us focus on the meaning of Christmas as well as fun family time versus things and toys and an endless list for Santa.
This year I needed to have something up off the floor away from Baby Girl, who is into everything. I opted for a small magnetic calendar using the same activities from last year.

I started by designing numbers in my Silhouette studio software. I used a sketch pen font and instead of cutting I used the Silhouette pen holder and a ball point pen.
Once the numbers were sketched I left the paper and mat in my machine and switched back to my blade. Then I cut circles around each number.
To assemble the daily containers I layered a number on a scalloped piece of cardstock and glued it to the cover of the container. Then I glued a magnet on the bottom of the container.
I added a vinyl title to the top of the baking sheet and arranged the containers below.
I sat down with my calendar and the daily activities and added them to the containers on days I know we will be able to do them.
I am so excited to share this with Little Lady, surprisingly she hasn’t seen it yet. Last year she would race downstairs in the morning to open that days bag.
