Two weeks until Christmas and I just realized Little Lady, my almost 4-year-old, has nothing festive to wear for Christmas. She is quite picky about her clothes and suddenly will not wear tights or leggings which means she can no longer wear her fancy Christmas dress in sub zero temperatures (ahh!). No fear, we have “comfy” pants and will find a shirt. I created matching monogrammed Christmas ornament shirts for the girls using my Silhouette and glitter heat transfer vinyl.
I love using my Silhouette to create quick and easy projects like this. Start to finish this took 30 minutes.
Here is what I used:
- 2 shirts (a onesie for Baby Girl and a fancy t shirt for Little Lady)
- Red, Green, and Silver glitter heat transfer vinyl
- Silhouette Portrait (learn more about this awesome machine by clicking on the graphic in my sidebar)
- Iron
- Light weight towel
I created my design in the Silhouette studio. I used a couple basic ornament shapes from the Silhouette store then added a monogram to each one. Before cutting the ornaments I mirrored them, always MIRROR your image! You will be cutting from the back side of the vinyl.
After cutting the pieces I weeded and placed them on the shirts, put a thin towel over the top and pressed a hot iron on each for about 1 minute. I pulled off the clear backing and my shirts were done, it’s that simple!
They are so cute! That bow on Baby Girl’s head cracks me up, and she thought it was pretty funny too. She has such little hair, we are sticking to headbands for now.
Something shiny and semi-fancy for Little Lady to wear this Christmas. And I love that my girls match! I am partial to a fancy dress but I have learned to pick my battles.
What are your kids wearing this Christmas?
Thanks for visiting!
