Decorating your walls can be an expensive endeavor. The cost of painted signs, framed art or even enlarged photos add up. I am sharing a way to create a colorful gallery wall using scrapbook paper that can be customized for any room in your home. This Paris themed scrapbook paper wall art is another installment of decor for my daughter’s Paris themed room, a work in progress.
The first time I made scrapbook paper wall art was in my daughter’s nursery, almost 7 years ago in our first house. We were pinching pennies at the time and I wanted to create a beautiful room on a budget. I used this same process and the result was perfect. Fast forward 7 years later and that same little girl is helping me adorn her room with Parisian art, photos and mini eiffel towers. I could have redone her room in a weekend, but she is enjoying taking the reigns and helping me create and decorate each piece. She painstakingly selected the 4 pieces of scrapbook paper we used for this project from Michael’s, then helped me put it all together.

Scrapbook paper Wall art
Supplies
- 12 inch square foam boards
- Craft paint
- Paint brush
- 12 inch scrapbook paper
- Mod Podge
- Foam brush
I started by painting the sides of the foam with black craft paint. I used black to coordinate with the scrapbook paper for this project. Once dry I coated one side of the foam board with Mod Podge and the back of one sheet of paper with Mod Podge. Then I placed the paper on the foam board and smoothed out any bubbles. To ensure this dried smooth and flat I placed the foam paper side down on my table them piled a few heavy books on top until it was dry.
To hang these I used mounting tape that will easily remove without peeling the paint off the walls.
Take a look at these other Paris themed projects I’ve created for my daughter’s room.

That seems so simple for wall art! I have a bunch of family pictures that I would like to display this way (it really looks like it will save money on picture frames. Do you think I can use pictures printed from my local Costco without any issues? I think I'd also like to add a little bit of bling (I love sparkles), maybe by gluing something, like sparkly fabric, to the outer edges. Thank you so much for sharing this inspiration!

That would definitely work, and what a fun way to display family photos.
