My kids go back to school next week! Summer has a way of moving quickly and before we are ready it’s time to start planning for school. Thankfully my girls love school and all the activities that go along with it. This week I am stocking up on after school snacks for my family, specifically snacks I can make ahead and feed to my ravenous children when they get off the bus. I’m sharing a simple recipe for make ahead peanut butter banana yogurt parfaits today. These sweet, crunchy and filling parfaits are easy to make in the morning so kids can grab one from the fridge in the afternoon. They make the perfect afternoon snack.
These yogurt parfaits are pretty straightforward, I added a little fun using some my of family’s favorite cereal instead of granola. Cereal is not just a breakfast food, it can be worked into these parfaits as well as other meals and snacks. On my last trip to Walmart I stocked up on school supplies and homework essentials along with snacks for lunches and after school. I purchased some family favorite Post cereals including Malt-O-Meal Peanut Butter Cups, Malt-O-Meal Marshmallow Mateys® and Cinnamon PEBBLES®. Choosing these Post cereals, especially Malt-O-Meal bagged cereal, helps our family save money by combining great taste and price. There are 33+ varieties and never any high-fructose corn syrup in these cereals, something I value when choosing foods for my family.
