The last two weeks of the year can be very eventful, children off of school, holidays upon us and guests knocking at the door. Preparing ahead of time is the best way to not only survive the holidays but enjoy them. I’ve got seven ways to prepare for holiday guests that will help you get ready for their stay and help everyone enjoy the season.
I am expecting guests this month in and out over a couple of weeks. I starting prepping this week by heading to Walmart for some must have items. Items that will keep my house and guests comfortable.
7 Ways to Prep for Holiday Guests
Decorate Guests are coming to celebrate the holidays, why not help them get in the spirit with a few simple decorations. A trimmed tree, a centerpiece at the table and a wreath on the door are enough to decorate your home, guests will bring the warmth.
Stock the bathroom Make guests feel at home by leaving them a basket of essentials in the bathroom. Stock the room with ultra cushiony, ultra luxurious toilet paper like Cottonelle® Ultra Comfort Care as well as Kleenex®, soap, fresh towels and other amenities you would use every day. I also like to tuck extra toilet paper and tissue away in my powder room which gets the most traffic in my home.
Prep the guest room Whether you have a guest room or a sofa bed, take a few steps to help your guests feel at home. Fresh linens, your Wi-Fi password, and any essentials they may need during their stay. Think about the items you bring on vacation and those you sometimes forget. Add a few special touches, like a cute Kleenex® Holiday Oval, to show how much you care and just how happy you are to have them in your home.
Prep the kitchen Chances are you will be enjoying many meals with your guests during their stay. Keep Viva® Vantage® paper towels, with their scrubby texture and durability, on hand to keep everything spic and span. Use them to easily and effectively clean the room before guests arrive, and to keep it that way through all your festivities.
Stock the pantry Everyone has different tastes, talk with your guests ahead of time and see what food preferences they have. Stock your pantry with staples and snacks they can enjoy outside of your planned meals.
Plan activities Depending on how long your guests will be staying, you may want to have a few extra activities planned for them to enjoy. Maybe a favorite local event, a drive to see holiday lights, or a fun night at home playing games or baking cookies.
The key to prepping for holiday guests is making them feel as comfortable in your home as they are in theirs. Don’t go overboard and stress yourself out, but take a few of these steps to help you all enjoy their stay.
