Ice cream is one of those special treats that is almost universally enjoyed.  My family will always choose ice cream if given the option for dessert.  We took our dessert up a notch this weekend by creating our own custom smores ice cream with Kemps.  Check out how we made this delicious treat and learn how you can help Kemps come up with a new flavor and maybe even win ice cream for a year!

Here in the Dairy state, we take our ice cream seriously.  Many of us, yes even the city dwellers, know a dairy farmer and we appreciate the work that goes into quality products like Kemps Ice Cream.  Every time a Kemps product is purchased, money goes back to the family farmers to continue to care for their cattle.  I stopped at Pick ‘n Save this weekend with Baby Girl and let her choose a couple cartons of ice cream.  She was clearly delighted with her choices.  I also let her ride in the “crazy cart” which I never do, so it was all around a pretty awesome grocery trip.  Kemps Ice Cream products are available in traditional flavors, we purchased old fashioned vanilla bean, as well as fun exclusive flavors like Caramel Cow Tracks.

Once we got home, we got out our special sundae cups.  These were passed down to me from my Grandma, who was also a lover of good ice cream.  Then we enjoyed some smores ice cream that we created.

I’m partial to this smores ice cream flavor, and so is Baby Girl.  We added chocolate syrup, crushed graham crackers, and marshmallows to vanilla ice cream.    It was not only delicious, but so much fun to create with my family.  Little Lady still preferred the Caramel Cow Tracks and I don’t blame her, that is one of my favorite Kemps flavors.

Check out more from Kemps, and be sure to enter the Kemps Locally Crafted Sweepstakes.  I’d love to hear what flavor you will create.

Love this! It's such a good time for S'Mores. We had them this weekend over the fire. My flavor would definitely have to be something chocolate maybe with peanut butter and cookie dough!
