Tour Through Blogland

I’m taking you inside Creative Ramblings today.  I’ve been nominated by Tara from Anything and Everything to share a little bit more about me, my home, and take you on a tour through my blog.  I’m also going to answer a couple of questions posed to everyone participating in this tour.

Tara shares everything ranging from DIY projects, food and drinks, kids stuff, and anything in between.  I love love love these fall mason jars she did. Be sure to hop over and take a look at all of her creative endeavors.

So a little about me.  I’m a mother, wife, and passionate creative.  I am thrifty and love to DIY any project I can.  In addition to this blog I have a little paper crafting business on Etsy.

What am I working on now?

Right now I am knee-deep in fall items for my Etsy shop.  Last year my entire business for almost 3 months was fall banners, specifically 2 that everyone and their mom wanted.  I am so greateful for that kind of business and hope to have success with this years styles.

As for Creative Ramblings I am working on my fall mantle.  I’d show you a picture but it’s just a pile of craft supplies and decorations on my floor waiting to be finished and arranged.  It will be on the blog soon!

How does my work differ from others in my genre?

I am a thrify gal, always have been.  I love a good DIY and decorating or craft project, but it is really hard for me to pay full price for anything.  Even on sale, it has to be a really good deal for me to pull the trigger on something pretty for my home. I love Ballard Designs, Pottery Barn and the like, but you will not find many, if any, items from there in my home.  What you will find are pretty and simple projects using thrifted or new (and on sale) items that I created.

Why do I write/create what I do?

I have always been creative.  I have loved drawing and building since I was little.  After reading other creatiive blogs I knew I wanted to share my projects, and connect with others who have the same passion that I do.  I would be creating without a blog, but sharing it with all of you is so much more fun.  I am constantly inspired by my readers and fellow bloggers and it keeps me going.

How does my writing/creative process work?

I have a list (ok multiple lists) of ideas and sketches.  They are all over my office.  Every couple of weeks I organize my thoughts and ideas enough to get them into my blog planner and put some order to my chaos.  There are so many things I want to try.  What usually ends up happening is I start 10 projects then finish them as the post date gets closer.  It’s a little chaotic but it’s fun and effective.

So that’s a little more about me and my blog.  I hope you’ll follow along and join me on my thrifty creative journey.

Now I want to introduce you to 2 bloggers whom I adore.  I am passing the “torch” to them next week, they will take you on a little tour of their blog.  I hope you’ll tune in and see what they are up to.

This is Rachel from R & R Workshop.  A little about her blog. “R&R Workshop started as a way for me to share my ideas and thoughts. No matter how busy you are, you should always find time do the things you love and enjoy. For me, being creative is how I rest and relax from the day.. hence the name R & R Workshop.”

I just love this gallery wall she put together, the colors and special elements are just perfect.

This is Sara from Sincerely Sara D.  A little about her Sara and her blog “I was created to create. My hands are almost always covered in paint – I’ll paint anything!”  And paint she does.  Look at this beautiful headboard in her guest room, and that polka dot wall behind it!

I look forward to seeing their tours next week.

Thanks for visiting!
