If you are a Silhouette user then you know there is a seemingly unending list of creative things this machine can do. I have had mine for three years and am still finding new and creative projects to make. This past week I made a colorful piece of summer art, inspired by this beautiful weather and my equally colorful deck furniture. I used multiple colors of Silhouette sketch pens to create this, and it was so easy. I love that after designing a piece like this, I can just let my machine do all the intricate work for me. Check out how easy it is to use multiple colors of Silhouette sketch pens plus other creative Summer Silhouette projects below. PLUS a giveaway, yes this post just keeps getting better friends!

Here is what I used to create this Summer Silhouette art. Some links below are affiliate links.
- 12×12 white paper
- Silhouette CAMEO
- 4 colors of ball point pens
- Silhouette pen holder
- Yellow and Aqua card stock
- Silhouette designs and fonts
I started by designing my piece of art in the Silhouette studio. I combined some text and a few images from the Silhouette store. I always download the free shape of the week and can usually go back through my library and find designs without having to purchase new ones.

Once it was laid out I moved my sun and waves off the cutting mat because I wanted to cut those designs out of card stock later on. I went into cut settings and selected the first word I wanted to sketch and chose “Cut Edge”. I selected the other words on the page and chose “no cut”. I also selected the Sketch Pen under the Blade Type drop down menu.

On my CAMEO I took out my blade and loaded my Silhouette pen holder with an ball point pen securely inside. I have also done pieces like this using the Silhouette sketch pens. This time around I chose to use a few regular pens I had in my office. I hit but then repeated this process for each word. I then cut the waves and sun from yellow and aqua card stock.

My CAMEO did most of the work here and I love how it turned out. It looks like a hand drawn piece of art from someone with very steady hand.
