Spring is upon us, at least here in the midwest. The grass is green and temperatures are warmer than average. I am looking forward to making Spring official this weekend. My daughter’s are loving this weather and can’t wait to get their hands dirty digging up a new garden in the coming months. Given their excitement (and mine) I thought it fitting that we celebrate Spring with a pretty brunch and one of our favorite foods. I put together this simple and delicious welcome Spring waffle brunch to enjoy with my family and usher in a new season.
We eat waffles in this house at least once a week. There’s nothing better than a hot fresh waffle made with our well-loved waffle maker and topped with fresh fruit and cream.
I made a few waffles, then laid out fresh strawberries and blueberries. I whipped up some fresh cream to top our waffles too. My family loves simple buffet style meals like this. I can lay out all the fixings and everyone can put together their own creation.
To make this Spring waffle brunch a little more special I used milk bottles to hold our milk. I love milk bottles and all the creative ways they can be used, but holding milk is still one of my favorites. I dipped the rim of each bottle into melted white chocolate then into round pastel sprinkles. My girl’s went crazy for these milk bottles, now that they have experienced them I have a feeling I will be serving milk this way more often.
This welcome Spring waffle brunch is a simple and delicious way to usher in a new season. I am so looking forward to gardening, being outside and enjoying the fresh air that Spring brings.
Are you ready for Spring? What are you most looking forward to?
Thanks for visiting!
