This week I brought up my boxes of fall and Hallowen decorations. Along with those decorations came costumes, which made for a very entertaining Tuesday. Little Lady tried on every costume she could fit into while walking around with leaves and pinecones “decorating”. Amidst this little show I did manage to get a start my fall mantle. This year I decided to go white and bright, with a little shimmer.
I started with a 1×4 and cut 4 squares (roughly 3.5 inches each)
I sanded them smooth then painted the front with white and the sides with silver.
For the lettering I used my Silhouette to cut the word Fall out of shiny silver vinyl.
When using vinyl my little trick to placing it perfectly lies in Contact paper.
I weeded the vinyl then picked up my letter and transferred it to the wood and placed it exactly where I wanted it. I smoothed out all the bubbles then peeled back the Contact paper. Perfection every time.
I love the non traditional look of white and silver for fall.
This is just half of my mantle, the other half has more sparkle and white in the making.
What’s on your mantle this fall?
